Bora Bora fishs Description

Fishing Conditions - We enjoy approximately 9 months (Oct. to June) of good fishing in Bora Bora .

The optimal time for big fish and lots of action is from December to the first of June when the water is the warmest. We always have our Inter-Island Fishing Championship somewhere between the end of February to the beginning of April. This is the period most locals call the best.

The Society Islands are one of the few places in the world where you can catch Pacific Blue Marlin all-year-around.

Type of Gamefish - Blue Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Skipjack Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Trevally, Jacks and Barracuda. Also found but not as common: Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Shortbill Spearfish and Big Eye Tuna

The slowest time is late June, July and August when the water is the coldest and the roughest. The fishing grounds begin one mile outside the reef. Where the water drops off to more than 1,000 meters. The water conditions are generally mild with the exception of winter and occasional stiff trades during the other seasons. All in all, this is a very nice place to fish.

You and the captain, Tepoe Pere, can customize the course of your Bora Bora fishing charter.

Captain Tepoe Pere has been fishing the Leeward Socitey Islands for over 25 years.
